The Idea of Filling/Spending Spare Time While Babysitting from the Viewpoint of a Child, a Parent and a Babysitter.

The thesis deals with babysitters´ conceptions of leisure time, their time perception during babysitting and their perception of how children and their parents evaluate this time. The aim was to find out how babysitters perceive their leisure time and the time they spend by babysitting and how is their understanding of how children whom they babysit perceive this time and how it is perceived by their parents. The theoretical part explains the circumstances of carers (babysitters), families and parenting and last but least leisure time. The chosen topics are supposed to be those that are necessary for the presentation of babysitting as a complex matter. The practical part contains substantial portions from the interviews with the respondents. It focuses on the carers´ perception of their leisure time and what difficulties are connected with babysitting as well as how carers (babysitters) spend their time during babysitting and how they think children would like to spend it and how they think parents´ conception is.

Dissertation thesis summary: Influence of nannies on the overall development of the ward This dissertation thesis deals with the topic of child minding by an alternative caregiver, the so-called nanny. Its target is to broadly examine and describe the issue, with emphasis on defined aspects. The presented theoretical-research work covers existing institutions and services for child care in both Czech Republic and abroad. It primarily strives, however, to capture the essence of motherhood from psychological, philosophical and genetic points of view. This effort takes into consideration the question of separation, and consequently traumatization in childhood. A significant part of the paper concentrates on the area of education of the child care providing persons. The research chapters focus on the influence of the nanny not only on the child, but also on the family atmosphere and the educational stances of the parents. It further deals with the position of the nanny within the family, and with bounds of the child-nanny relationship. The output of the work is then a practical handbook, a manual with specifically defined content of an educational program (for nanny-position aspirants and for already practicing professionals). The material was drawn up with help of experts, with the aim to point out weak spots...
Importance of nannies in a family of a child with special needs

This thesis deals with the problems of babysitting children with special needs. The theoretical part is primarily devoted to the characteristics of healthy child development. Consequently, it provides a comparison of optimal child development with the development of handicapped children. It highlights the difficulty of care for disadvantaged children, the importance of preventing parents becoming overloaded and the various possibilities for support of the families. The next chapter focuses on the educational assessment of healthy children and children with special needs. It describes the availability of babysitting services for those children, the offers of current agencies and the profile of good quality carers. The last chapter presents the empirical part of this thesis. The quantitative research was, with the use of questionnaires, addressed to the parents of children with special needs. This section presents the course of the research and the method by which the goals were attained. It presents the views of parents of children with special needs with regards to: their level of interest in, and the problems with, babysitting services. This thesis deals with the question of the inclusion of nannies as caregivers for two-year-old children in the system of preschool education in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to look into the issue, to explain the role of nannies in history, and to point out the reality of this work today. The theoretical part deals with the developmental psy-chology of the child, with an emphasis on the toddlers and the position of nannies in history. The theoretical part of the thesis concludes with information concerning with whom, and under what conditions nannies can work. In the practical part, on the basis of the analysis of interviews, the thesis tries to explain the profession of nanny and its position in kindergarten.
